Education

I'm a Film & TV Production M.F.A. Student at Loyola Marymount University class of 2023. I got my bachelor of arts degrees in Computer Science and Cinema and Media Studies.

Experience

Even though I'm pursuing my dreams of making movies, I've always loved math, science, and languages. In college, I studied advanced calculus, linear algebra, graph theory, and mathematical structures even though they weren't required by either of my majors. I taught Spanish for three years to students ages 6 to 18 at Concordia Language Villages' El Lago Del Bosque in Bemidji, Minnesota. There I discovered my love for teaching. In a full language immersion setting it can be difficult to teach students who don't know a single word of the language. I came up with captivating lessons that made language learning more approachable. I learn best when I feel empowered and curious to discover new things for myself. I hope to spark that same interest in my students. From 2018 to 2020 I worked as an Educational Associate at Carleton College. One of my favorite parts of my work has been assistant teaching. Video Production equipment can be hard to pick up without prior experience and I quickly discovered the value of giving students hands-on experience and encouraging experimentation. Learning is as much about recognizing ways things can go wrong as it is about finding the right answer. I strive to teach in a way that is both precise and easily accessible. I maintained a 4.00 GPA in high school and excelled at high school math courses including Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I scored fives in AP Calculus BC, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism. I scored a perfect 800 on the quantitative portion of my SAT.
