As a teacher, I have experience in tutoring, offering private music lessons, and directing a choir. As a student, I have studied music as well as medicine. Having studied a variety of subjects in my own academic career, I understand the importance of having a solid grasp on basic learning skills. Learning skills and study skills provide a solid foundation for studying any sort of material. As a tutor, I focus on cultivating these skills with my students. In addition to my focus on basic study skills, I make sure to cater my teaching style and material to the specific strengths and weaknesses of each client in order to best help them on their way to success. In terms of education, I earned a bachelor's degree in Music Theory/Composition from Elmhurst College. I also studied medicine at Bastyr University for 2.5 years after finishing some post graduate studies in math and science. These experiences have qualified me to tutor a very wide variety of subjects, including music, science, math, and various test prep courses. I have specific experience tutoring in music (theory, instrumental, voice), writing, anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and algebra. I am currently in the process of a career change and am looking for a school to suit my needs as an aspiring orchestral conductor. I also spend my time reading and playing music.
